The right for workers to organize remains at the heart of employee rights in this country. Labor law reform, collective bargaining, pension protection, protecting overtime, fair wages, equal protection under the law, social security, and worker's compensation are critical issues. Also, the raise-the-wage initiative, health care, minimum sick leave, just cause employment, and family and medical leave. These are all part of the goals of the labor movement and our economy subgroup.
Labor is an essential element of economic and social justice. The right to form and join unions is the foundation of achieving other worker rights like a living wage, decent benefits and a safe and democratic workplace. A healthy democratic society is dependent on a democratic workplace.
We will support employee rights by supporting local unions and organizing drives as well as legislation in the Colorado State Legislature that protects employee rights.
