Arvadans for Progressive Action (APA): Call to Action for October 15th - 21st

——————————————————————

*** ARVADA CALL TO ACTION***

Contact City Council about organized trash and recycling. Please “Contact Us” if you can make 1 3-minute public comment at a City Council meeting sometime this year. The amount of waste that we see from having 8 garbage companies drive around our city is mind blowing. And because these companies charge extra for recycling, Arvada only recycles about 13%. We can, and have to, do better. Please help City Council get to the right solution - if we had organized trash and recycling, each block would only have 2 trucks driving down it each week (one for trash and one for recycling), and recycling would be included in our rates. It’s time for the change. Find your City Council district here: http://maps.arvada.org/opendata/pdf/City_Council_Districts.pdf.

Call and/or email your City Council district member and at-large members to promote organized trash and recycling:

Mayor - Marc Williams: (303) 424-4486; mwilliams@arvada.org
At-Large - Bob Fifer: (303) 929-4278; bfifer@arvada.org
At-Large - Dot Miller: (303) 885-2501; dmiller@arvada.org
District 1 - Nancy Ford: (303) 325-3153; nford@arvada.org
District 2 - Mark McGoff: (303) 423-5258; mmcgoff@arvada.org
District 3 - John Marriott: (720) 273-3912; jmarriott@arvada.org
District 4 - David Jones: (720) 889-8860; djones@arvada.org

Send letters to 8101 Ralston Road, Arvada, CO 80002

SHOW UP - MONDAY: Arvada City Council Business Meeting. 6:00pm. 8101 Ralston Road. Business Meetings are open to public comment. Today would be a good day to ask them to support Amendment 73, 5a, and 5b, to take real action on affordable housing, or to move forward on organized trash and recycling. https://arvada.org/city-hall/city-council/city-council-meetings-and-agendas .

SHOW UP - SATURDAY: Town Hall with Rep. Kraft-Tharp, Sen. Zenzinger, and Rep. Sias. 10:30am - 12:00pm. Covenant Village 9153 Yarrow St, Westminster. They will be co-hosting a candidate forum with the Westminster Chamber of Commerce for the County Commissioner candidates in Jeffco and Adams County.   https://www.facebook.com/events/271052873749809/.
