Why talk about the election now? It’s over, so wouldn’t talking about it just reopen wounds? The purpose of this talk is not to revictimize ourselves, but to provide an explanation of what happened that may provide a helpful way of looking at the outcome. The purpose of this talk is to defuse some of our common perceptions about the election in order to produce a clearer understanding of the results. To do this, our speaker Robin Riley has examined the news media and the way it presented and treated the presidential election.
Robin’s methodology focuses on two competing value systems and how these two value systems shaped the perceptions of citizens and voters. Please join APA in hosting Robin for this engaging Zoom meeting where he will present his thoughts and conclusions and then engage participants’ feelings, thoughts, and ideas.
