RECAP: APA March Meeting on Improved Healthcare for All: Doctors Speak Out!
On March 1st Arvadans for Progressive Action had a monthly meeting on the topic of healthcare in Colorado and the US. We had brief reports from some of our APA Action Teams: Anti-War, Climate Change, Communications, Education, Healthcare, Housing, Political Action, and Social Connections.
Our Speakers Were:
Dr. Vince Markovchick, professor emeritus of emergency medicine at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine and past director of emergency medical services at Denver Health Medical Center.
Dr. Madeleine Jacobs, a rural family physician for 28 years, she left her practice frustrated that our health care system wouldn’t allow her to care for her patients.
Kavya Ganuthula, a medical student and Master of Public Health candidate, is dedicated to advancing universal healthcare and advocating for policies that ensure equitable access to care for all individuals.
They gave us a lot of information and first-hand stories of obstacles they have faced as physicians. Dr. Vince gave a presentation on Waste, Fraud, and Abuse in the medical system. You can review this presentation here and watch the full meeting recap on YouTube.
